Selective embossing
Decorative embossing in selected areas of the design.
The LUMEN application incorporates the use of water-repellent inks in the digital printing process to create embossing and textures on the surface of the ceramic. This innovative technique allows pieces to be designed with three-dimensional effects that enhance the visual and tactile appearance of the ceramic.
Application Process:
• Digital design: The design is printed onto the model.
• Water-repellent ink printing: On the digital printing machine, the final print head applies a water-repellent ink to selected areas of the design.
• Firing: During firing, the areas with water-repellent ink deform slightly, creating a relief that can be either raised or recessed. • Cooling: The piece is cooled, consolidating the relief created by the water-repellent ink.
